Jo Noel is a musician from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Since becoming an accomplished guitar player from his start at the age of 8, Jo has diversified his musical talent. Learning to play drums, piano, and bass by the age of 18 to compliment his guitar skills, he quickly went on to produce his own music, becoming a self made recording engineer in the process. Furthermore, Jo also began a DJ career while studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

 

Jo Noel's experience in the music industry has spanned many years. Jo helped found and played guitar in the rock-alternative band Northern Lights in 2015 with fellow Fremd High School students of whom recorded and released 2 studio albums and played several venues in the Chicagoland area from 2016-2018. From this experience, Jo was able to gain the tools needed to succeed in the industry and record his own music, releasing his debut solo album Only Sometimes in 2020 after beginning to record his own vocals on his own production in 2018 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Noel’s musical style is a clear product of the vast range of genres he has learned to play and perform over his life. Jazz influenced chord progressions, distorted guitars of alternative and hard rock, and a melodic vocal style have shaped his sound. A student of all musical genres and crafts, Jo Noel is determined to continue to perfect his own sound.
